This week we completed the insulation. The deck is almost complete, we keep running out of the special colored screws. We can use the steps now and have put our table and a couple of chairs on the porch.
We used the same type of decking wood that we had at the house in Cary. It is called massaranduba, and is very dense, no splinters here!
Drywall was delivered on the 10th, then the dust started flying! We have blocked off the access from the Kitchen to Maureen's room and the garage side. On the bedroom side, we can close off the hallway and bedroom doors to keep the dust to a minimum.

| During the week Juan's carpentry crew built the wall that will become the kitchen peninsula. We have ordered cabinets and are planning to order the granite countertops soon. The drywall crew was here on Saturday applying the mud. you can see on the far wall the area that was made so that diningroom china cabinet will fit in perfectly. |
The walls were still a little wet on Monday, 16th, so the 2nd coat of the drywall mud will be applied tomorrow, then the sanding of the walls on Wed. Next up,flooring!
