Walls are coming down. March 31, 2012

Walls are being taken down that connect the current house to the addition.  Electric, Plumbing and Mechanical rough-in is complete.  We will have the inspector here on Monday.

the sliding glass door leading to the porch has been installed, and the installation of the flooring for the porch is almost complete. 

Work has been done on the siding, and the roof.



March 19-23,2012 Plumbers, Electricians, ductwork, fireplace,etc

 Many people here working this week, YEAH!

Electricians working on wiring,  This shows the living room, You can see the reflective barrier in the roof.  This will make the insulation more effective.

 



This is the shower enclosure for the bathroom on the lower level. 



Vent pipe for kitchen was cut when window was installed.
It will be connected.



Marty, the plumber from Stackhouse Plumbing had to cut through the brick,and block to get the pipes to connect.

We also have had the men here putting on the siding.  We are using Hardi plank shingles, and will paint them a cedar like tan, and have white trim.

March 12-17,2012 : We have WINDOWS!

 

Stairs to screened porch, privacy wall

 Roofing and indoor framing continues.  Our master bathroom has been framed, Plumbers were here getting things ready.  Bill and I picked out faucets, toilets and a shower enclosure.  We started to look at carpets and tile.   We have stairs going down to the lower level. And--the windows arrived.  To remove the current kitchen window, we had to take out the upper level cabinets, but the new window is so much bigger, I love it!

March 5-9, 2012

The porch room is being framed.  Sub flooring is down.  We have ordered the wood for the floor.  We are planning to use radiant heaters so that we can sit outside on the pretty but coolish days of early Spring and late fall. (It was in the 60's on Sunday)

The rafters for the roof of the porch.  Hopefully this week we will get the framing completed.

It was a slow week this week.  The Framers had to work at another house for 4 days, so we only had them here on Friday.  Looking forward to alot of progress this coming week!  Windows have been ordered and we are hoping to get them installed soon.  Shingles for the roof are on order as well.  We are going to have the window that goes into the kitchen installed, so the cabinets around the current window have been emptied and are no longer available for use.


The upper cabinets will need to be removed so that the window can be changed.  Our new window will have 3 panels and will be larger than this on.



February 27th-March 2nd: Framing continues

2nd floor framing continues and the roof has begun to be raised.  The walls for the rooms are in place, window openings are framed.  Our view from the livingroom is great!

Our breakfast room window has been removed, so it is sort of dark inside now.  The door that is framed there is to be the door to the porch.  The wall next to it will be opened up soon, connecting the living room and dining room.
